Food Establishment Scores
Food establishments that prepare and sell food in Fayette County are inspected as part of the Illinois Department of
Public Health Food Protection Program. The frequency of the inspections depend upon Food Service Establishment
Categorization.
Beginning in January 2019, scores are no longer given during an inspection. We instead total the number of risk
factor/intervention violations (RF/IV) and the number of repeat risk factor/ intervention violations (Repeat
RF/IV). Risk factors are important practices or procedures identified as the most prevalent contributing factors of
foodborne illness or injury. Public health interventions are control measures to prevent foodborne illness or injury. Good
Retail Practices (GRP) are preventative measures to control the addition of pathogens, chemicals, and physical objects
into foods. Below, we note the number of Good Retail Practice violations for the food establishment.
You, the customer, are the best eyes and ears of the food protection effort. If you see something you question, feel free
to call your health department. We want to protect the health of the public.
