Discover Tennessee’s natural, cultural and historic heritage. Our 56 state parks offer diverse and varied natural landscapes, family-friendly recreational activities, affordable and varied lodging accommodations, volunteer opportunities and hundreds of interpretive programs and events. There are 1100 miles of trails, 372 cabins, 36 campgrounds and over 80 waterfalls.

Tennessee State Parks are open to the public seven days a week, year-round. There is no access fee charged, although there may be fees associated with certain activities.  From the cypress swamps of the Mississippi River at Meeman-Shelby Forest to the rugged ridge tops and waterfalls of Fall Creek Falls to the majestic mountains of Roan Mountain we look forward to seeing you. The Tennessee Conservationist is a multmedia platform published by Tennessee State Parks, a division of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.  The Conservationist advocates for the preservation and protection of the state's natural and cultural resources.  It invites readers to connect with the natural resources and recreational and educational activites found within the State Parks system, and features articles on native species, history, archaeology and culture.
